There are quite a few things this Stylish Buxom Beauty considers to be essential pieces to every wardrobe. I think it is vital for all of us—men and women—to invest in ourselves and our wardrobe, and there are two key pieces we all should own, a garment bag and an overcoat. I decided to discuss these items together because they sort of go hand-in-hand, especially in the corporate world. But they are good to have regardless of your lifestyle or place of employment.
One of the main purposes of using a garment bag is for transporting and storing clothing, without getting them wrinkled or creased. This is helpful when carrying or storing a suit jacket while driving, or protecting a change of clothes after a workout or for an event.
Using a garment bag will eliminate carrying a jacket or a dress on a hanger uncovered and exposed to the elements. This simple addition to a wardrobe makes you look prepared and polished. Garment bags range from $11 to over $100, which is virtually suitable for any budget, and you can find a good selection at Amazon.
In my book, investing in an overcoat is equally essential to any wardrobe. Having a coat for each appropriate occasion and season is key to achieving a pulled-together look. Pairing a parka jacket with a velour evening gown is not a good look. It is best to find something that matches your attire, from casual to formal. When choosing a coat, it should fit comfortably and accommodate a suit jacket or blazer, which will alleviate the need to carry it over your arm or on a hanger. Staying neutral with your color choices will make your purchase more versatile, but if you’re feeling a little daring, I encourage you to have some fun with bold colors, prints, and designs.
Now that spring has arrived, it is the perfect time to purchase a winter coat. Most stores are making room for spring fashion, so winter clothing is marked down—that’s right SALES! Additionally, light-weight trench coats are being stocked, which could potentially be on sale too.
My go-to store for coats is ELOQUII. Unfortunately, their winter coats were already out of stock when I came up with this topic, but they do have a trench coat worth checking out.
