When you visited the Diary of a Stylish Buxom Beauty website, you were greeted by a Facebook Messenger pop-up, which was added to allow more engagement and serve as a vehicle to ask questions and share ideas. Last month, a few inquiries were submitted—one of which is being highlighted in this post.

Based on the title, you were probably able to deduce a submission for help with finding plus-size lingerie was received. This was a great opportunity to check out a few brands that are new to this Buxom Beauty and a brand that recently started providing plus-size styles.

I must admit, I had a lot of fun doing the research for this post. I am quite fond of most things related to fashion; however, when I started working on this I had no idea it would enable me to explore and embrace a deeper level of intimacy with myself. There is something about lingerie that excites my senses a little more, but to be perfectly honest, “getting intimate, again” made me vulnerable.

Although I like lingerie, I acknowledge that I haven’t reached the level of self-confidence to showcase myself. I don’t necessarily consider that to be a bad thing, but it made me question how comfortable I am with every aspect of my being. Additionally, I am still trying to hope that somebody’s son will find me one day, and if that day comes, I realize I need to be secure with myself in order to be comfortable with him. So this experience was beneficial for the reader who made the request and for me—more to come on that.

Lingerie covers a gamut of women’s intimate apparel, so I tried to create a curated selection of pieces that express the various feelings and moods it can stimulate.

“Sexy” is the first word that comes to mind when I think about lingerie. The adjective encompasses a lot and it’s not all necessarily sexual. Furthermore, like most things in life, how we classify people, places, and things is subjective, and just like everything else in fashion, it is a great way to express one’s individuality and personality. WWBBW Curated Plus-size Lingerie

1. Hanky Panky lace tee and the Retro plus-size Vikini

The first piece of the collection falls under what I consider to be “modest” lingerie. To me, this is great if you’re booed up or not. It is a good choice for lounging alone or with someone while “Netflix and chilling.” Both the tee and panties are available in sizes S-3X. You can snag the tee for $68 and panties for $39 from Nordstrom. If you want to make this look a little racier, you can swap the Retro Vikini for the Open Gusset Hipster Panties for $34, which is also available at Nordstrom.

2. Curvy Couture Retro Roses bra and panties

Keeping with the “modest” vibe, next up is a playful sheer bra and panty set, which could stir up some heat with a significant other or ignite feelings of feminity solely for the wearer. There are multiple colors and patterns available to choose from up to size 46H in bras and 3X panties. You can “try before you buy” the bra with prime at Amazon or purchase it for $40. The panties can be ordered there too for $22.80.

3. Thistle and Spire Kane V-wire bra and Overt bikini

Thistle and Spire is all about giving a boost to anyone who needs it with edgy styles and patterns. The story behind the brand comes through in their designs. Although we’re kicking it up a notch with this option, these Kane V pieces can be one’s secret inspiration for more confidence or a vehicle to spark fire and desire with a partner. The bra is available up to size 40F for $62 and the panties are for sale in size XS – 3X for $36 at Thistle and Spire.

4. Hips and Curves Arvil Quarter Cup bra and thong

We turn the heat up a little more with this ensemble. The strappy set is a nice mix of feminine and sexy, which was designed with the curvy girl in mind. It is a good choice for a special evening with that “somebody.” It comes in black and blush sizes 34C-46H and XXS-XXL (12-24). 5. Dita Von Teese Nom De Plume bra, bikini, and suspender

A curated collection of lingerie would not be complete without the iconic Dita Von Tesse. This selection encompasses timeless beauty, confidence, feminity, and sexiness. It is a good choice for a special occasion—either with someone or not, and it is also great for everyday wear. The bra comes in sizes 32C-44G for $120, and the panties and suspender are available in sizes XS-4X for $55 and $100 at Dita Von Tesse.

6. Fashion Nova Roses and Wine Teddy

I was not surprised to see a lot of lingerie on Fashion Nova that I considered cute and or sexy. They offer an array of options. I chose this piece because it has a nice balance of sexy and sweet. The sheer element gives a playful teasing vibe, the faux leather trim adds a slightly risque touch, and the roses give a sprinkle of feminity. This Teddy comes in sizes S/M – 3X/4X and it is on sale for $24.49 at Fashion Nova.

7. Victoria’s Secret Embroidered Crotchless Lace-up Teddy

Last, but not least is a Teddy from an unexpected source, Victoria’s Secret. In 2019, this company underwent a brand refresh, which included extending its sizes. This piece has simplistic elegance with a whole lot of overt intentions. One can wear this when she and her partner know what’s on the agenda. The Teddy is available in sizes XS-XXL for $89.95 at Victoria’s Secret.
