Weddings in Bloom

imageThe season has arrived when brides to be are busily and happily planning the day for them to say “I do”.

The day I was artificially married was absolutely gorgeous.  Nothing went wrong – everything was picture perfect during my beach wedding.  The marriage on the other hand- a completely different story for a completely different type of blog.  So, let’s get to the subject of this post, wedding dresses…and yes, my dress was absolutely beautiful.

I, like most females, envisioned my wedding day as a young girl.  I recall saying I wanted a dress like the one Shari Headley wore in “Coming To America”.  Honestly speaking, if I do take that plunge again, I would love to have that ridiculous train flowing behind me.

I remember searching for my wedding dress…it was so much fun!  I visited Alfred Angelo on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. I was in awe.  This bridal shop has several collections of beautiful gowns for the curvy bride at a reasonable price. I fell in love with the Sapphire Collection, which offers a sophisticated and radiant style in a variety of sizes.

Even though I adored the gowns at Alfred Angelo, I said yes to the dress I found at David’s Bridal.wedding gown

Yes, David’s Bridal.  I know in years past, David’s Bridal was not considered to be “the place to go” to find the perfect gown. I learned they have a large selection of styles for all brides at a modest cost. However, if cost is no object, they do have dresses over $1200 as well.  Their collection of gowns has caused them to move up in the world of bridal gowns.  The styles vary from simple to eccentric…and I found my beautiful gown there.

David’s Bridal has a huge selection of gowns and accessories for every bride’s personal style.   But, it is there huge selection of plus-size gowns that caught my attention.  I have fallen in love with Vera Wang’s White Collection available there.  It is an amazing collection of romantic and whimsical dresses with bows, and lots of tulle (if you like that sort of thing…and boy do I!).  This collection is available in sizes 0-26.  How awesome is that? The dresses in the White Collection range from $630 – $1,900.

bmOleg Cassini is another featured designer at David’s Bridal. The details of the Oleg Cassini collection is elegant and feminine. This designer plays with lace and organza – creating an unforgettable dress for any bride. If I were about to jump the broom, I would have a difficult time choosing a dress.  I am really impressed with the options for wedding gowns for the plus-size bride.  The prices range from $800 – $1,900.

The David ‘s Bridal website is a one stop shop for just about everything a bride to be needs to plan her wedding. From bridal gowns and accessories, of course- to bridesmaids dresses, MOB dresses, invitations, tuxedoes, and even lingerie.

Happy planning to all you curvy brides to be…and that includes those of us waiting for the right groom to find us…but, until then…

Be you, and most importantly…love you.

Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful.
