Life never ceases to amaze me, and I’m not sure why. I know everything happens at a certain time for a particular reason, but when I see or hear things related to something I’m considering or planning, I am always amazed.
About two years ago, I got the idea to start a podcast. I envisioned discussing topics related to dating, relationships, world events, and life in general. In the usual Towanda fashion, I contemplated the idea for quite some time. I pondered over the content and building an audience. Much like how I question whether or not anyone reads what I write, I wondered if anyone would listen.
I wholeheartedly believe the desire to share is within me for a reason. But frankly speaking, I find blogging a bit discouraging at times. I often wonder if I’m wasting my time and energy writing and sharing? I strive to write from my heart and share a part of me to encourage and inspire love. Despite my passion for all of us to love ourselves fully, there are moments when I feel like it is all for naught. But two things happened today that gave me the nudge I needed.
As I was scrolling through Instagram, I saw a post that mentioned a topic that is related to a podcast episode I planned to discuss and publish. Then, not even five minutes later, I saw another post from a writer I follow encouraging writers—specifically bloggers—to “write like everybody’s reading.” I commented on the post and thanked her for sharing it, and she gave me exactly what I needed in two words. She responded, ” Keeping pushing.”
So, as I sit here with my earbuds in my ears blasting Mariah Carey’s “Shake it Off,” I am going to keep pushing. I have a voice, and I will continue to use it. And If you’re wondering what’s new, the Diary of a Stylish Buxom Beauty Podcast is launching soon.
