What Would B.B. Wear (WWBBW): A Look Back at B.B.’s Fashion Picks, Part Deux

Last month I invited you on a stroll down memory lane as I identified some of my favorite fashion picks from the past five years. As I looked through my photos, I realized I couldn’t cover them all in one post—so here is part two.

This first look is a colorful, fit, and flare dress from ELOQUII. I quickly fell in love with this dress when I spotted it online back in 2017, and I wanted to add it to my wardrobe. I remember “stalking” this dress, and as you can see, it paid off.

I picked this dress because of the vibrant colors and bold print. Unfortunately, plus-size women have often been discouraged from wearing a lot of color and prints. I am guilty of shying away from clothes that could draw attention to me—I didn’t want to be seen—my how things have changed.

I’ve recognized my right to own my space simply because I exist. I’ve also adopted the idea of being a voice and not an echo even if someone disagrees with my statement. In my eyes, this dress projects this mindset.

The second look is a denim jumpsuit by Rachel Roy. I am fond of this piece because of how well it is structured and the 1970s vibe I get from it, but I have a personal reason too. Wearing this jumpsuit enabled me to embrace a part of me that I was self-conscious of—my arms.

My arms are big. They were large when I weighed less and wore a smaller dress size—this is how my body is. I had to decide if I would live the words I write or be a hypocrite. I admit that wondered if people would stare and pass judgment because my arms were exposed. But people will think, speak, and judge as they wish—I can’t control that. I can only govern me, and I choose to love and accept me regardless of the opinions of others.

Number three is one of my favorite dresses because it is pink and fits like a dream. I purchased this Marycrafts bodycon dress from Amazon. It complements my bright, happy, and sexy personality. This dress lets me say, “I am here” without uttering one word.

More red! I like everything about this look, from my straight flowing mane to the subtle sexiness of this Vixen dress by Michelle Pitt. Every woman should own a red dress. I get a boost of confidence and empowerment whenever I wear it.

Next to dresses, jumpsuits are a favorite garment and must have in my book. I like this look because it is casual yet chic with the high heel urban boot.

Thank you for taking another journey with me.

Until the next time be you—and more important—love you.

Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful.
