It is true my favorable thoughts toward the movie “Legally Blonde” stem from the bubbly personality of the main character “Elle Woods” and her love for pink. But, there are a lot of life lessons nestled within the 96 minutes of the movie; and I’ve highlighted 10 of them. I believe there are 11, but I decided to omit the obvious “bend and snap” life lesson.
1. Determination can take you places you never imagined.
2. Keep trying in spite of failure.
3. Don’t be discouraged or give up on your goals because of naysayers; regardless of who they are.
4. You will learn a lot about yourself and your abilities when you try something new.
5. Stay true to yourself no matter how people treat you.
6. Believe in yourself even when those closest to you doubt your abilities.
7. Use rejection as a motivator to keep going and not as a reason to give up.
8. Don’t be afraid to go after what you want.
9. Everyone is not going to accept you, but that shouldn’t hinder your zeal to accomplish your goals or stop you from being yourself.
10. Your haters will try to break you, but don’t let them – keep going.
We are still celebrating Women’s History month, which is the perfect time to encourage and strengthen women to believe in themselves.
This year’s theme for Women’s History month is, “Nevertheless, she persisted.” Let’s not place this concept in a pigeonhole of the month of March. It can and should be a way of life for all of us.
I believe we should encourage every woman we encounter throughout this month. But, I want to inspire you to strengthen at least one – and let that one be you.
Until the next time be you, and most importantly – love you.
Being uniquely you is being uniquely beautiful.
